Who is God?

God is omnipotent, God is omnipresent, God is omniscient.

What does this mean?

First God is omnipotent, God is all powerful. He holds the power of everything, he created everything we know, the universe and everything in it.

2nd God is omnipresent, God is everywhere. How can this be? Our frail form of human understanding cannot begin to understand this. Yet, God is everywhere, he permeates everything. He sees everything, he is aware of everything in the universe at all times.

3rd God is omniscient, God is all knowing. He knows everything, he understands everything., he has total knowledge of all things.

He forgives us when we sin against him.

God forgives our sins.

We sin. We tend to do things our way instead of God's way. And he sees it and knows it. God does not merely overlook such sin, but is prepared to judge and condemn people for their sin. However, God is forgiving and will forgive us from the moment we begin a relationship with him. Jesus, the Son of God, paid for our sin with his death on a cross. He rose from the dead and offers us this forgiveness.

"We are made right in God's sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, no matter who we are or what we have done... We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us." (Romans 3:22,25)

He is merciful

God offers mercy.
All have sinned and fall short of God's glory. We are sinful human beings, God knows this, yet God offers his mercy to us. His mercy is freely given, you cannot earn his mercy.
